THE MERIDA CABLE CAR: THIRD SECTION
 
 
  Third Section: From La Aguada´s Station (3.452 meters)
  To Loma Redonda´s Station (4.045 meters)

This third part of the ascent is trough high country where the South American flannl flower or, "Frailejon" grows. If the wather is clear, good phographs of Venezuela´s highest peak, the snowcapped Pico Bolivar (4.981 meters), may be taken. To the east La Concha glaciar at 4.922 meters can be seen; while directly below the car you can distinguish the old mule trail to the village of Los Nevados. This ascent takes 11 minutes.
