This
third part of the ascent is trough high country where the South American
flannl flower or, "Frailejon" grows. If the wather is clear, good
phographs of Venezuela´s highest peak, the snowcapped Pico Bolivar
(4.981 meters), may be taken. To the east La Concha glaciar at 4.922
meters can be seen; while directly below the car you can distinguish the
old mule trail to the village of Los Nevados. This ascent takes 11
minutes.
