Recommendations:
- Be
prudent. Avoid drinking alcohol and eating heavy food that is hard to
digest befoere ascending. It is preferable no to ascend if yoy were up
late the night before.
- It better to
use loose fitting clothes that are adequate for cold or rainy weather
- Do not lose
body heat unnecessarily. Use your jacket or windbreaker.
- Avoid eating
too much food that is hard to digest during the ascent. Drink a lot of
liquid. Alcoholic beverages and forbidden in National Parks and are nor
good for your health at hight altitudes.
- From Loma
Redonda Station on you will perceive less oxygen in the atmosphere. The
high altitude and hypoxia (lowering of oxygen in the body) will activate
your normal physiological adaptation mechanisms. Do not be alarmed.
- If you feel a
slight headache, nausea or dizzciness, reduce your physical activity and
resort to our specialized personnel or the infirmary located at each
station, where you will be given oxygen to help you overcome the
discomfort.
- If you are
receiving medical treatment or are using prescription drugs for
pathologies of the cardiovascular or repiratory systems, have an
appointmenth with your doctor before the ascent and follow the
instrutions given to you.
- Enjoy yourself.
Move about slowly. If you should feel the 'Mal de Páram' (altitude
snickess) it will go away when you descend. Be cautious. Always be
accompanied by someone else and do not wander too far away from the
stations. If you would like to hike please inform the specialized
Inparques Pesonnel and comply with their instrutions.
- Pay attention
to the instrutions given by the official in charge in the cabin and the
officials at each station. Our specialized personnel will assist you if
you have any doubts.
- Please stay
seated in the cabin. Avoid moving around abruptly. Do not forget your
belongings. Help us with the maintenance of the facilities.
