The car
moves over steep rock faces and the delights of enchanting lakes. From
the cable car you can see the two lagoons called "Los Anteojos" (Eyeglasses).
There are no towers between the two last station and the ascent take 14
minutes. At the summit stands the statue to "La Virgen de Las Nieves" (Virgin
of te Snows). A panoramic view of the twin peaks of Humbolt and Bompland,
4.942 meters and 4.883 meters; and the Timoncito´s Glacier on the
southern slope of Pico Bolivar can be seen. To the north the Sierra de
La Culata, to the south on clear days you can see the Venezuelas plains
and on the horizon, the peaks of the Sierra de Cocuy in Colombia.
